About

My father, John B. Power (the guy in the back row who looks like he’s about to kick the photographer’s ass), served on the USS Zircon (PY-16) during World War II.

Twenty-six years after his death, I’m trying to find and put together pieces of his life and the lives of others who sailed the Atlantic from Newfoundland to Guantánamo Bay aboard a converted millionaire’s yacht.

If your father or someone you know served on the USS Zircon, please get in touch.
